Chapter thirty-one

Luka

The fussy assessor from the Omega Center snaps the protective case on his tablet closed. “That’s all boxes ticked. Congratulations, you’ve met the requirements to bring your omega home.”

Colt closes one fist in silent victory and throws me a wink. It’s been a bloody long haul of assessors, red tape, and emergency home maintenance that’s taken three weeks. Feels like three years since I still haven’t met Rose. Colt and Kye have been alternating days to go and see her at the Center, but I’m nearly bursting waiting to meet her.

I take another look at the barred cells that will house her wild alphas as Colt lets the man out through the front door, talking about when the official application will be processed. Honestly, we couldn’t have done any of this without Kye paying for it, or my little stash of filthy money.

He drops me back to my feet but keeps hold of my wrist. “Two days.”

I tilt my head back and groan. So close now!

“Let me text Kye real quick.” He pulls his phone out and taps a message into our group chat. Kye’s at the Alpha Center doing his basic training for handling wild alphas. He’s had two weeks of classes and he comes home looking pale each time. I’m hoping he’s got more grit than he appears to possess to see the training through.

“Okay, time to celebrate.”

We aren’t particularly creative guys, so celebration means one thing for us. A beer each and a good fuck.

“Sounds great.”

He lifts my wrist to his lips and nibbles on my skin. “Luka, I hope you don’t think Rose is replacing you in any way. After I introduce you to her, you’ll be free to interact in any sane way she agrees to. But nothing changes between you and I unless you want it to.”

Colt grazes his teeth against my pulse and my dick raises its head in interest. “I hear you, Sir.
